Puerto Princesa is the capital city of Palawan province, which is located in the Southern Tagalog region. It is a relatively new city, and is the second biggest city in the Philippines, in terms of area.

Puerto Princesa Bay
Has a good view of the sunset and some interesting places for diving.

Palawan Museum
Houses a display of archaeological artifacts and fossil remains.

Palawan State University
Has a smaller museum with displays of archaeological finds, artifacts, butterfly and shell collections.

Palawan Wildlife Rescue and Conservation Center
A crocodile farm that also has a small zoo with animals endemic to Palawan.

Iwahig Penal Colony
A self-supporting colony where the prisoners sell handicrafts they made at the souvenir shop.

Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park
A park lying at the foot of Mt. St. Paul, and has a number of different varieties of trees and animals. The underground river exits from an 8-kilometer cave into a beautiful pool near the beach.

MAJOR EVENTS:

Tabuan Festival (Foundation Day Celebration) 1st week of March - A series of week long cultural, sports and other events. Tabuan (meaning "market place") is usually celebrated as a day for farmers, fisherfolks, traders and buyers where there is an exchange of goods, merrymaking, street dancing as a thanksgiving for blessings and bountiful harvest.

Pista Y Kagueban (Feast of the Forest) 3rd Saturday of June - An annual massive tree planing and environmental conservation activity intended to reforest and rehabilitate denuded areas in the city; participated in and celebrated by all citizens as well as by tourists and visitors of Puerto Princesa City.
