Cainta
Nuestra Señora de la Luz Parish
Completed in 1715, the church was gutted during World War II. Only the outer walls and the facade remained which was repaired with a coat of Portland cement. In 1727, a devotion of Italian origins to Our Lady of Light was brought to Cainta.
Heritage Features: Except for the outer walls, now greatly renovated, hardly anything remains of the church. However, national artist Fernando Amorsolo painted an image of the Virgin for the churchs high altar. |
